Merry Christmas

So... it has officially been a year since I posted on this blog! {I even still have the same holiday theme since last year... yikes!} I thought I would be the best 'lil mommy & keep a daily log of our little family's comings & goings. Well, I failed! Oh-well! {I was spending more time with my family, right!?}

I can tell you that the last year has been SUPER BUSY! Gavin is busy working at Munns Mfg. in sales. He enjoys golfing, bowling, hunting, gaming & a variety of things that keep him busy! He seems to always have something going... whether it is smoking meat or watching the big game with some friends or family, he manages to keep himself busy. I have been trying to juggle being a mom, wife, business owner, designer, secretary & a housekeeper. My life is a little crazy & is keeping me frazzled! But I love it! We have been extremely blessed to have a home business that is working out well. I love it! Which brings me to our little daddy's girl, Kylee. She keeps me the busiest! She is a very active and curious 19 month old with a punch of attitude! She jabbers and tells stories all day long! I gave up on keeping track of all the words she now says because she says 2-3 new words everyday! She is into and on top of everything and loves to make a mess where ever she goes! Oh, she is a joy! I love how I can be working on everything all day long and the house looks worse by the end of the day and my inbox is fuller than it was in the morning and dinner doesn't even get made. Oh, such is life! :)

Wow! What a year! Our little Kylee is 7 months old now & is crawling all over. She loves to get into everything and is a very curious little gal! She LOVES her tongue! It is always hanging out. She is very loud screamer, but is always happy. {Well, she does have some moments!} We love her so much! She is truly a blessing in our lives.

Gavin has been super busy with his many hobbies this year. He loves to go shed antler hunting all year long it seems like! He also loves to golf all summer. His new hobby is bowling. He has been in a few leagues this last year & loved it! He is getting pretty good & even wins money occasionally! The newest adventure has been his new calling... Executive Secretary in the Bishopric! {I think he might have to give up a night of bowling for it!} He also loves being a dad & being the 'entertaining' parent.

As for me, I am trying to juggle being a full time mom, full time wife & a full time {+} business owner. It has been a challenge, but I am very grateful to be at home with my baby. I do need to find me a few hobbies in my spare time though. {Besides facebook & blog-stalking!} I love my job! I love designing fun things for people and I am thankful that it can provide an income too!

Kylee Anne was born on Saturday, May 22nd 2010 at 4:12 pm. She was 7 lb 6 oz and 20 in long.

The story...
Thursday night I had a massive headache... it was still there on Friday morning. So at noon I finally went to the doctor to see if I was ok because we were watching my blood pressure because of preclampsia. I really was planning on going to Salt Lake with my mom, but that never happened. Instead I was sent home to get my stuff & to at the hospital in an hour. So I drove myself to the hospital & Gavin met my there from work.

I was induced on Friday at 2:30 pm. I basically "hung out" all evening. I finally started having contractions around 10:00 pm. So they gave me some pain meds & sleeping pills and put me to bed. My doctor came in at 4:00 am and said I was only a 2 & broke my water. By 8:00 am I was a 4 and in pain! I had to wait an hour for my epidural because they were so busy. {That was the worst part!} at 12:30, I was a 10! The had me wait an hour to start pushing.... but it was really almost 2 hours. I started pushing at 2:00 & Kylee arrived at 4:12 pm. I pretty much zoned out for a lot of it & could not tell you much of the details. The cord was wrapped around her neck twice & she was posterior {face up instead of face down}.

Grandma & Grandpa Munns were out in the hall waiting for her arrival & were the first visitors to great her. After we were moved up to the Mother/Baby unit, Jamie & Tyson came to visit as well as Grandma & Grandpa Welling & Great-Grandma Welling.

We spent all day Sunday in the hospital, with visits from Uncle Brady & Aunt Erika, Uncle Casey, Uncle Ryan, & Uncle Jordan and Grandma & Grandpa Munns. We were released on Monday and sent home!

When she was 4 days old, Kylee had high biliruben levels. She was put in a bilibed with the bright blue lights to treat her jaundice.

Baby Update

May is here!! Yeah! We are getting excited for our new little arrival. I am currently 36 1/2 weeks along... due on May 26th. So the countdown is coming to an end. My pregnancy has been going really well! I cannot complain. I am just starting to 'feel' pregnant. Other than some occasional swollen feet, few aches & pains, I have been in good health. I am not very big yet... I have only gained about 15 pounds so far :) {Which I could have easily done over the holidays if I wasn't pregnant} The doctor believes we will go right up to my due date because there is not a reason to come early.

Names you may ask??? Well... that is a problem. {Gavin is still holding out hope for a little boy... so NO girl's names sound good to him} We are working on it & hopefully she has one before she comes home from the hospital. It might take a few days to fight that one out! :)

We have almost got the nursery ready... We have also had 2 baby showers & were very blessed with great friends & family who filled this little gals closet with lots of clothes & needed items. Here are some fun pics of the much appreciated items!

These quilts were crafted with much love from Grandma Welling & Aunt Jamie... I did buy matching material for the green & pink crib quilt to make a bed skirt, window valance & crib bumpers... so hopefully I can find time to get those done!!! It will all look so cute!!!

This is the crocheted blessing dress from Great-Grandma Winkler... I love it! {One of the exciting things about having a girl... I love grandma's dresses!}

This little woman will be very well dressed!!! Summer clothes are so super cute & everyone else must have thought so too, because her closet is full! Oh... and she will have LOTS of cute hair accessories! {Hopefully the occasional heartburn I am having = lots of hair like I had}

Lots of nicely crocheted receiving blankets...

The super-cute diaper cake!! It has lots of fun stuff tucked into it! I am also really excited to use my new 3-in-1 Swing, Bouncer & Toddler Rocker. {The rocker is only put together so far.} I love, love the idea of having 1 item be used for all & last a lot longer than just a swing!

So I think we are a lot closer to being ready for our little one! I hope work slows down a little for me when she arrives. I have been super-busy doing wedding invitations lately. But I am very blessed that I have been able to work from home the last year. I really do enjoy working for myself and hopefully it can continue a lot longer while I am raising some little ones!

July Travels

In July, we had reunions, parties or places to go every weekend. It was a blast. We had the 4th of July with the Welling Family, then we went with them to the Wight reunion at Beaver Mountain. The next weekend we went to Bear Lake for the Munns reunion. From there, 23 of us Munns' went on a road trip to the Black Hills in South Dakota. It was so much fun! I then headed to San Diego to meet up with Gavin & his family for his cousins wedding. I am still collecting pictures from everyone (I am bad at taking my OWN photos.) But here is what I have so far.
We stopped at Martin's Cove & Independence Rock on the way through Wyoming. Some of us even hiked to the top of it.... including Makell!

Mt Rushmore at night. We stayed for the lighting ceremony at night. It was a neat & historical experience.
Crazy Horse Monument in the Black Hills. They have been working over 50 years on this monument. In about 50 more, it will be completed to look like the statue. We went back at night for the laser show on the mountain. It was neat. You can read more about it HERE.

This summer flew by! We moved back into the condo with new carpet & paint. I love it... especially my new office! :) Gavin is done with school!!! YEAH!!!!!!!! Congrats Gavin! He has to wait until December to walk in Graduation, so it is almost official. It is so nice to have school done for both of us. Maybe we can start a new chapter soon!

In June I went to Boston with my mom & sister to visit Amanda... Here are a few of the fun pics! We made it to a Boston Red Sox Game... it was AWESOME!! What a fun atmosphere!!!

The Update

WOW..... I am a horrible blogger! Here goes the long update... We are in the process of moving back to our condo in Logan. Gavin's parents arrive home from Kazakhstan on June 11th. So we have been busy re-painting, re-carpeting & shopping at IKEA to update the condo. It was nice to be able to buy my own furniture for my own place :) I will have to post the glamorous MTV cribs pictures later!

Gavin is almost done with school..... He is doing his internship at Munns Mfg. during the summer & then he can graduate!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!! I am super excited!

As most of you know, I have started my own design and printing business. I have been extremely busy the last few months with wedding invitations & it has been doing really well. So I am taking the big step & quitting my job at The Herald Journal. I gave my 2 weeks, so my last day will be June 5th! Kind of scary, but I am really excited. I will actually have more time to do some marketing & stuff for my business instead of just trying to keep up with the work flow.

So we are basically in the middle of remodeling, moving, yard work & cleaning right now. We are looking forward to summer and spending time with family. There are lots of fun events planned. Beginning with my trip to Boston with my Mom & Jamie on June 12th!!! :)

Makell entered the world last Wednesday morning at 2:52 am.. Her proud parents are Jamie & Tyson. She was a little one, weighing in at 5 lb & 12oz & 19" long. She came home on Saturday after staying in the NICU for a few days because of her sugar levels. She is doing great now & has lots of aunts & uncles always visiting! This is the only picture I have of her. This was Wed afternoon when she was still in the NICU. I will get more pics later.

Last weekend got got tickets to the BYU/UTAH Rivalry game. We had a great weekend. We stayed at the Hilton (Thanks Kenny!) and ate at Spencer's Steakhouse (YUM!) and went to the game. We went with Tim & Laurie Thompson.

So earlier today there was a fire at the new police station across from my work. We were all taking pics of it with our phones & cameras. Later they asked all of us to submit our pics for the online photo album of the fire. When I was uploading my pictures I took, I found this wonderful picture of Mesa Falls that I took last weekend when I was in Island Park. It turned out so well, so I framed it to make it look like a post card! This was even taken with my phone!

The Road Trip to Montana

Last weekend was the Munns Family Reunion at Ruby River Reservoir in Montana. We left LATE Wednesday night & drive part way & slept in a rest stop! Then the next morning we made it to Ruby. It is about a 6 hour drive. (Even longer with little brothers :)

On Saturday night we went for a drive to look for animals. Within 15 miles of camp we saw lots of Whitetail Buck Deer...........

Then on the way back to camp we spotted an elk & 2 MOOSE!!!!!!! They were huge!!!!! It was cool. They were just out grazing at dusk in a field. Sorry, no pics because it was pretty dark! Maybe next time! It was a great spotting trip!

Mount Nebo Loop

Last week was our Welling Reunion in Mount Pleasant, UT. While we were there we HAD to go scope out DEER around Mt. Nebo. So here are some gorgeous views of the valley. Enjoy!

We had a great time at the reunion, sadly, I FORGOT to take pictures!! Ooops! It was fun though! Grandma Rhoda even joined us & kept us all on our toes! She was great to have there. She enjoyed the cardboard pictures of Anne & Roy so much that she wants to buy them to keep in her house! We will see about that. Rumor is they will make an appearance at the Nicholas Reunion next weekend! :)

Gavin turned the big 25 on the 1st of July. (I know.. I am way behind!) Happy Birthday Gavin!!!!! We had family & friends over for ice cream. He got a new helmet for our new scooter that was purchased recently to save gas money! He also wants a new set of irons for golfing... we have not gone shopping for those yet.

So I found this really fun idea for the missionary parents while they are away! We can bring them to the reunion & other functions!! Well kinda...... A few weeks ago a fellow in our primary brought his LIFE SIZE cardboard cutout of his brother to class. The kids loved it! He said he takes him hunting, camping, weddings and all sorts of places! So I asked his mom where they got them done at and she said all they did was paste the head onto a celebrity body. So as I was shopping at the party store the other day... and I found them! They are not even expensive! Now, I just need to decide if I really should do it.

This is what they will kind of look like. I will get better pics, but these are the bodies that work the best... George Bush & Hillary Clinton. (I know, not everyones favorite... but its them or Marilyn Monroe & Superman.) I will make little missionary tags for them as well.

So I need your help! Is this a dumb idea? I need outsiders opinions & comments.... feel free to tell me the truth! Will the kids really enjoy it or make them miss them more? I am totally willing to do it. Let me know what you think!

Last weekend we scored tickets to a JAZZ Playoff Game!! It was so exciting. We went & stayed at the Hilton in Salt Lake (thanks for the hook-up Kenny!) & enjoyed a very intense & exciting playoff game. Jamie & Tyson joined us for the weekend as well. We had decent seats in the upper bowl. It was a very exciting atmosphere. Now the Jazz just better win tonight!!!!!!! Wish them luck!

The last few weeks I have been working on Brady & Erika's wedding invitation. Its been fun! I learned a lot of new tricks! Here is a copy of what they will look like. I will post some of my new favorite design sites here shortly.

Last weekend I went to an overnight crop with my sis-in-laws in Salt Lake. It was tons of of fun! The best part is.... I almost have my wedding album done!! YEAH!! I am only 2+ years behind... but who's counting! I am excited to start into the "digital scrapbooking" era. No more cutting paper for me!!

While I was away last weekend, Gavin & his buddies went to the Mule Deer Foundation Benefit Dinner.. (yes, Michele.. it is a real thing!) He actually had a lot of luck winning prizes. He came home with a camp chair, mug, calendar & a nice gun. He was quite happy! I still have no idea where the money goes.. the mule deer maybe?

So thats the most recent update. We are just keeping busy with work, school, & other
hobbies. We need to get started on yard work & stuff if the weather will ever cooperate! We are so ready for spring & summer! Can't wait!

New Cuts & New Wheels

We have had an eventful few weeks... So here is the update....

Gavin & I both cut off our locks of hair for the shorter do's. I actually got really tired of my hair. It was getting such dry ends, so I went crazy one night at midnight and attempted to cut it all off myself! (I looked like one of the psychos in the movies!) I did a "decent" job, but luckily I got a real hair appointment a few days later! It looks much better! I also gave Gavin a short trim. He likes the shorter style now.. even though I secretly miss the curly locks!

In other news..... Gavin made his first truck purchase! We bought a 2005 GMC Sierra Truck. We love it. Its been fun to have more reliable vehicle, especially since we are driving a lot more. We said good-bye to the Lumina & then got my car into a mechanic for a tune-up. Its nice to have our cars running smoothly now.

For Easter weekend we took the truck for a ride to SLC to visit Megan & Michele & families. It was fun to hang out for the weekend! Its been awhile since we saw the family. Thanks for letting us stay!!! This big house feels a little lonely to me without the whole Welling family around. Thats the way I always saw it. Last week we did get the opportunity to have house guests. Ryan & his family stopped in for a quick visit.

Thats about it for us right now..... Gavin has spring antler hunting fever & goes spotting quite often. So between work, school & hunting, he stays pretty busy. I have just been working hard & trying to keep up with our busy lives.

Snow Day!

This morning we woke up to more snow! We got about 12 inches & its still coming down! Church was even canceled. (This made the decision between missing a little church for super bowl party slightly easier for Gavin!) So this morning Gavin got out the John Deere tractor & went to work! It took a few hours & we got out & got a few neighbors driveways cleared. Mom & Dad wanted to see some pics so here they are! Here is Gavin below at the Allisons with Ty & Spencer... The tractor might be stuck! ;)

The garage door is having issues, so unfortunatly we are still parking outside sometimes!

We have a lot of drifts and piles of snow. The piles on the sides of the driveways are now over 10 feet high! We also have a LOT of snow on the roof! There is a 3 foot drift across the ridge of the roof! We are about the only ones with that much on the roof! It must be the trees! This is the snowiest winter that we have seen in a long time! Gavin & I barely remember one this bad! Its been fun though!

Later in the day we went to Kara's families house & hung out! The boys wanted to show off some of their backyard snowboarding skills! The top of the hill is just snow off the deck! So here are some of the videos...

Update on us!

Its back to school for Gavin. He is still going full-time at Utah State. He also got a job promotion and is now working as a manager. I am still working hard at the HJ. I am very happy that the busy season is over!

We finally have snow in Fielding. At least 8-10 inches. Unfortunately it was too late to start an ice rink. Its getting way to warm & we missed the holiday season to enjoy it.

We are almost settled into the home in Fielding. Well we finally got the Christmas tree taken down, boxes unpacked and most our stuff organized in the house. Now we just need to clean up after ourselves & get caught up on Laundry! Yeah!

So thats the update! Nothing new & exciting! Maybe next time! ;)

We wish you a Merry Christmas!!! This will be our Christmas card for the year! Update on us... We are almost finally moved in to Gavin's parents house in Fielding. We are house sitting for the next year & a half! It will nice to have all the extra space! It took a few weeks to get it all moved over. We did it a carload at a time! Yeah!
We've also been getting trough finals, getting ready for Christmas, working overtime, and fixing up our condo to rent. I am excited for Christmas break! Life should slow down a little.
Gavin is praying for more snow so he can build an ice rink in the yard. If it happens, we will let everyone know & have ice skating parties every night!!! Right now there is only an inch of crusty snow.... we need more! Maybe tonight!!!

Las Vegas

Last weekend we went to Las Vegas for the BYU vs. UNLV football game. We had a great time!

We rented a cheap car & then headed down south on Thursday. We were planning on staying in Mesquite for the night.. but we unfortunately got a flat tire in St. George. So we stayed there for the night. Friday we continued on our journey to Mesquite & went golfing at a beautiful course. That evening we met up with Gavin's old mission buddy Craig Gilbert & his wife, Angie. We headed to Fabulous Las Vegas Nevada! We had a great time people watching & seeing the sights of Vegas. We scored front row tickets to the game. It was really fun. I even ran into my old roommate from college. Hi Marta! We then headed home LATE Saturday night! Good Times!

UPDATE ON US....

We are going to Vegas for the BYU/UNLV game in a few weeks with some friends! That will be exciting to get away before the busy holiday season hits me at work!!! We are also going to celebrate Christmas on December 1st this year!! Because Gavin's Parents are leaving. That will be fun!

So in December we are moving to Fielding.... We are renting our Condo in Logan. If there is anyone who is interested, please let me know!! We are still working & Gav is still going to school... so nothing too new here! Talk to ya later!

Kazakhstan!!!!!

Anne & Roy got thier mission call to Kazakhstan!!!! Crazy huh??? The leave December 10th. Its a welfare mission. So where is Kazakhstan? It is below Russia, nestled next to China. I am excited for them. It will be a fun adventure! So Gavin & I will be moving to Fielding in December sometime... probably right after his finals week!!! Thats the update for today!!! I will fill you in when there is more.

So the last few weeks have been a little crazy. We have seen so much family lately, so its been fun!

The last weekend in June, Gavin's Grandpa Welling passed away. So we got to be in Fielding with family for a few extra weekends.

We also got to attend Grandma Rhoda's 4th of July party! It was really hot.. but fun! Luckily, we had some misters in the back yard to keep us cool!

Last weekend we were at Beaver Mtn/Bear Lake for Gavin's family reunion with the Nicholas side of the family. It was fun!!! Lots of family time lately... and there is more to come!! This next weekend we are road-tripping to Montana to my family reunion!! I am excited!
